Terms of Service
Effective Date: September 8, 2026 · Last Updated: September 8, 2026
Applies to: ChromaCard iOS app (additional platforms planned) chromacard.app

We wrote these Terms to be readable. They’re not designed to trick you. The goal is to be clear about what ChromaCard is, what your rights are, and what ours are. The short version: you own everything you create, we hold nothing on our servers, and you can delete every trace of yourself from ChromaCard in under five seconds by uninstalling the app. If something doesn’t make sense, email us at legal@chromacard.app and we’ll explain it in plain English.

1 Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using ChromaCard, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

These Terms apply to all users of ChromaCard, including trial users, card credit purchasers, and Premium subscribers. Certain sections apply only to paid tiers and are labeled accordingly.

2 What ChromaCard Is

ChromaCard is a mobile application that lets you create, customize, and share digital business cards. Your card lives as a wallpaper on your iPhone Lock Screen — always visible, always ready to scan. Anyone with a camera can point it at your screen and save your contact to their phone instantly, with no app required on their end.

All card data is stored locally on your device. ChromaCard does not operate a cloud service, create user accounts, or store your card content on any server.

2.1  What ChromaCard Is Not

ChromaCard is not a CRM platform, a contact management cloud service, a social network, or a data collection service. It does not sync your data with, or upload your data to, any third-party platform. It does not track whether recipients view your card, and it does not send recipients any follow-up prompts or solicitation after a scan.

2.2  Platform Requirements

ChromaCard currently requires a compatible iOS device running iOS 16 or later. Android support is on the roadmap and will be reflected in an updated version of these Terms when available. Minimum OS version requirements are listed on the App Store. You are responsible for maintaining a compatible device and OS.

3 Your Data & Content

3.1  You Own Your Content

All contact information, photos, card designs, and other content you create in ChromaCard belong to you. ChromaCard LLC claims no ownership over your card content. Because your data lives on your device and never passes through our servers, we have no practical access to it — and no interest in claiming any.

3.2  No Cloud Backup

Critical Notice: ChromaCard stores all data locally on your device only. ChromaCard LLC maintains no backup copy of your cards. If you delete the app, lose your device, or your device is damaged or reset, your card data cannot be recovered by ChromaCard. We strongly recommend saving your card as a Lock Screen image to your photo library as a personal backup before making changes.

3.3  Your Responsibility for Accuracy

You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the information on your digital business card. ChromaCard LLC is not responsible for any consequences arising from inaccurate, misleading, or outdated contact information you share.

3.4  Attribution

By using ChromaCard, you grant ChromaCard LLC a limited, non-exclusive license to include the text “Powered by ChromaCard ✨” in the Notes field of the vCard generated by your card. This attribution appears only in the contact record saved to the recipient’s address book, not on the face of your card. It is ChromaCard’s sole mechanism for organic word-of-mouth growth and is intentional, not incidental.

Our plan is to remove attribution automatically for Card Credit and Premium cards once ChromaCard is out of beta. This will be included with either purchase, not a separate charge. That change ships as part of general release and applies automatically to cards you’ve already made.

During the current TestFlight beta, this intent is not yet in effect: attribution appears on every card, including Card Credit and Premium cards. This is a limitation of the beta build, not the shipping design.

4 Pricing, Subscriptions & Payments

4.1  Trial Tier

ChromaCard is available for free with no time limit. The trial tier allows you to create and share a fully functional digital business card. No payment information is required to use the trial tier.

4.2  Card Credit — One-Time Consumable Purchase

A Card Credit is a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks all premium features for a single card within a single editing session. The price of a Card Credit is the then-current price displayed in the App Store at the time of purchase. One-time Card Credit purchases are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or App Store refund policies. Card Credits are consumable purchases and are not restored if you reinstall the app or transfer to a new device.

4.3  Premium Subscription

The Premium tier is an auto-renewing annual subscription that unlocks all features indefinitely on your device. The subscription price is the then-current price displayed in the App Store at the time you subscribe.

Subscription billing and cancellation is managed entirely by Apple (App Store), not by ChromaCard LLC. ChromaCard does not process or store your payment information. Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. To cancel, go to your device’s subscription settings in the App Store. You retain Premium access through the end of the current billing period after cancellation.

4.4  Price Changes

ChromaCard reserves the right to change pricing. If we increase the price of an active Premium subscription, we will notify you at least 30 days in advance through the app. Continued use after the price change takes effect constitutes acceptance. You may cancel before the change takes effect.

4.5  Refunds

Refund requests are governed by Apple’s App Store refund policies. ChromaCard LLC does not process refunds directly. Please contact Apple for refund assistance.

  • Impersonate any person, company, or organization
  • Distribute malicious QR codes or use ChromaCard’s sharing mechanisms to direct recipients to harmful content
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app
  • Use automated tools to scrape, interact with, or exploit the app

6.2  Your IP

7.2  No Warranty

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ChromaCard LLC disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ChromaCard LLC and its members, managers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the app in violation of these Terms; (b) false or misleading content on your digital business cards; or (c) your violation of any applicable law.

10 Termination

You may stop using ChromaCard at any time by deleting the app from your device. Deleting the app terminates your use of the service and permanently removes all locally stored card data.

ChromaCard LLC may suspend or terminate your access to the app if you violate these Terms. If we terminate a paid subscription for cause, we will provide a prorated refund for the unused portion of your current billing period.

Upon termination, the following sections survive: Section 6 (Intellectual Property), Section 7 (Disclaimers), Section 8 (Limitation of Liability), Section 9 (Indemnification), and Section 12 (Governing Law).

11 Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or by posting a notice on chromacard.app at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of ChromaCard after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

We will never change these Terms in a way that retroactively eliminates rights you had when you made a purchase without providing a refund option.
